Borealis Can
Biography
Borealis was formed in 2005 in Ontario (Canada), originally composed of Siobhan O'Brian (chant), Matt Marinelli (guitar), Jamie Smith (bass), Sean Dowell (battery) and Sean Werlick (claviers). The Eyes Of A Dream demo, in a metal symphony register, appeared in 2006 and allowed the young training to open for Kamelot and Epica. However, the group prefers to move quickly towards the Power Metal Progressive; He then separates from his singer, and Marinelli takes the microphone in addition to the guitar. A first self-produced album, World Of Silence , was released in 2008, after which Ken Fobert was recruited as second guitarist. Borealis then began to turn seriously, opening especially for Edguy . The band signed with Lion Music for the release of Fall From Grace in 2011. Shortly after the recording, Fobert left and was replaced by Michael Brigruglio. After a hiatus, it was under this line-up that Borealis joined the AFM Records team in 2015 for his third opus, Purgatory. Two changes took place in 2016: first the start of the original bassist, replaced by Trevor Mcbride, and then at the end of the year, after the re-recording of the first album (which was released in 2017 under the name World Of Silence MMXVII), that of Brigruglio and the return of Ken Fobert. It was in March 2018 that The Offering appeared, the fourth album of the combo.
