Although he defended it, Born Dead Icons was an institution on the Canadian punk scene. Born between 1998 and 1999 in Montreal, the band released its first demo cassette very quickly before signing a deal with Deranged Records at which were released Part of Something Larger Than Ourselves and the first Work album in 2000. The year 2001 is quite prolific for Quebecers who have a second album, Salvation on the Knees as well as the Eps Modern Plague and New Scream Industry. In 2003, after several tours in Europe and the States, notably with the French La Fraction , Born Dead Icons released his third album, Ruins , the band's last production to date. At the same time, some members are in the Complications group.
