Biography
Bowerbirds is first a duo from North Carolina who decides to make music, influenced by the rural environment surrounding them. Accordion and guitar constitute a first EP, Danger at Sea, released in 2006. It was only during the recording of their first album that Phil Moore and Beth Tacular were joined by Mark Paulson , a multi-instrumentalist and producer of the album, Hymns for a Dark Horse (2007). Upper Air is the second album of the band released in 2009.
Cultivating oral imagery, the trio is part of the nu-folk wave (or freak folk, of which are part, among others Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom) with a catchy penchant for the sunny pop side of the thing.
