Biography

Born from the ashes of past disagreements, Break the Void (formerly known as ETNA) was created by drummer Alex Anxionna (formerly Sybreed) in 2007 in Geneva, Switzerland. With his past experience in Sybreed, in the studio but also on many tours, Alex wanted to follow his own path and surrounded himself with the first musicians who recorded the demo three tracks Retribution Finally and formed the first line-up of Break the Void. The reactions were immediate and the chronicles positive. To top it all out, the band appears in the Demo du Mois section of RockHard magazine and on the sampler. After some changes in line-up, Alex found new musicians: bassist Fabian Ferraglia (ex-Last Warning ) with whom he started recruiting musicians who could join the band and who had the same musical vision: futuristic, abstract and post-apocalyptic. The band also finds its singer, in the name of Marko Romero (ex-Nevent), mixing tortured screams and clear passages more melodious. Frederic De Cecco also joined the band, bringing his touch to the band's compositions. The band's result exploded in 2009, when the band entered the Taurus Studio to record their first album The Monochromatic Era , with Claude Lander and Ben Rudio mixing and the Tue Madsen (Mnemic , The Haunted , Dark Tranquility ...) at the mastering.
