Biography
Takuya Shima : Marcy singing / guitar : Yumi drums : Yas Uenuma keyboards : Hiroshi Yoshii bass : guitar
Shima and Marcy founded Buddhism in '99 in Kashiwa. Very quickly, the other three members complete the training and the first single "Towers" was published by No Code / Start Today, closely followed by the galette Where Are You Going To Bury the Contents Of Your Mind? in November '00. After a signature in 2002 at Lastrum and some regional tours, they released a second opus at the beginning of the following year: Yes, Goal I'm Alive . Their passage on the label will have been very short since they decide to found their own label, Music For Gorillas (which will later host Kamome Kamome ...), and release in August 2004 an EP split with Whence He Came (Hong Kong) which will lead to a joint tour on the Asian continent (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia...)
They landed a few months in Kashiwa to write the 14 tracks that will appear on their eponymous album on November 02 '05 (disc mixed by Martijn Groeneveld: Face Tomorrow , The Spirit That Guides Us , The Beautiful Mess ...). The cake will only come out in Japan, the quintet not finding much support from other labels outside the land of the rising sun. During the summer '06, they recorded a cover of The Police for the Japanese version of the Tribute Politia album, then set out to make some dates in Hong Kong. So far, the four buddhistson guys and daughter have shared the scene with bands like Brandtson, Last Days Of April, The Gloria Record, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Pele, Cartel, Jairus, Naht, FC Five, Oceanlane, Husking Bee etc.
