Burst
Biography
Burst is a group founded in Sweden 1993 in Kristinehamn, far from the local strongholds. Originally, the band is called Dislars and has only one ambition, playing very fast and very loud. The adopted style is thus halfway between crust punk, hardcore and grind. It was not until 1995 that the musicians decided to change their name and heading. Several demos are composed, including one produced by Dan Swanö ( Edge Of Sanity , Diabolical Masquerade , Bloodbath ) and the band begins its experiments in search of a sound of its own, which derives from the melodic death at the beginning. Their signature at Melon Records paves the way for an ep, Shadowcaster, in 1996, and then a first album, Two-Faced, in 1998, hardly findable today. Burst changed his line-up during these years and Robert Reinholdz's arrival as a guitarist will lead to a sharp increase in the level of their compositions, which are therefore conveniently associated with metalcore. Already perceptible on Conquest: Writhe album released in 2000, their new stature is confirmed by the ep In Coveting Ways the following year, produced in Gothenburg under the leadership of Fredrik Reinedahl and Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates , Opeth , Arch Enemy ). The band then signed with Relapse Records for its next album, Prey On Life in 2003. With very good reviews, and an increasing audience, thanks in particular to joint posters with Dillinger Escape Plan or Mastodon in 2004, the group created the event in 2005 with Origo , which marks a step towards regions close to the Post-Hardcore. A tour with Opeth in November and December is scheduled. In 2008, Burst signed his latest album, Lazarus Bird, which was a great success for the band. They nevertheless decided to split after their tour in 2009.
