Callisto
Biography
With an average age of just 20 years, Callisto has already come a long way. After a 1-title demo and a few good concerts, the band won a contract on the Finnish label Fullstead Records in 2002. This label allows the band to make themselves known throughout Scandinavia, and to record at the end of 2002 a mini CD entitled Ordeal Of The Century , an exclusive vinyl, Jimema / Klimenko , and then a first album in early 2004. Thanks to judiciously composed music and a fresh style, the word of mouth serves and allows the members of the band to gather at each concert a little more audience, coming as much from the Hardcore scene as Metal. And because: Callisto distills a tortured Postcore with multiple influences. Some see chaos there, others an incredible sweetness, but that's what will characterize this music: a more or less subtle combination of various elements, instruments, and atmospheres, to the sensitivity Pop-Rock. Add to this an already strong personality and a good instrumental level of each, and you get the recipe for success according to the four Finnish. With this fresh and unstable popularity, the band is noticed by the Earache stable, with now substantial means, which allows it to release its album, True Nature Unfold, in an improved version (in terms of production and artwork), and especially with a large-scale distribution. Thanks to this boost of destiny, the band then gets a "second life" for its album, allowing it to defend it internationally, in a very honourable way.
In 2006 follows Black, again victim of a reduced distribution in Finland, but still far from being bad, since completely in line with the bases built by his predecessor.
