Biography

Candiria is one of these groups apart, which by its compositions can surprise the listener. The band evolves in a jazz/hardcore/metal/rap of the most worked: anti-conventional rhythmic structures strongly influenced by jazz and a rap/hardcore song of the most incisive. The band started their career 11 years ago in New York, initially with high school buddies, then evolved to the current line-up, now composed of members who met in the studio. Their debut album Surrealistic madness was released in 1995, followed by Beyond reasonable doubt (1997) and Process of Self-Development in 1999. The band forges a band identity apart from these albums, mainly in terms of jazz incursions but also of the song that will evolve from a rather "death"/gras song on the first album, to a perfectly mastered song on the 4th and fantastic album of the band: 300 percent density (2001), their most accomplished record. It is with this album that the band will make a name abroad, but they unfortunately do not benefit from any distribution. Released a year later The coma imprint , a double album, composed of new and old songs, covers, and ambient/electro tracks. The band was the victim of a Van accident during its 2002 tour and miraculously managed to do so. 2 years later What doesn't kill you will always make you stronger, album strongly inspired by this accident (pouch, lyrics, booklet...). An album that will sound definitely different, with many melodic incursions to the song and the songs can be a little less inspired, but according to the band: "an album we needed". Today Candiria won his lawsuit against the heavyweight company guilty of the accident, and took the $29 million baget... The band also found a correct distribution in Europe with Earache records, and is about to release its 7th album.
