Formed: 1965

Biography

Before starting solo, Carla Bozulich was a singer at The Geraldine Fibbers and brailleuse by Ethyl Meatplow, a member of Neon Veins or even Scarnella, but it is above all a unique voice, a provocative avant-garde artist who has since formed the Evangelista trio. While she does not want to compose an album in its entirety, she started in 2003 with a reinterpretation of Red Headed Stranger (Willie Nelson her designer appearing on three tracks), this one will be the instigator of her second opus I'm Gonna Stop Killing, here Carla Bozulich creates new songs but remains in the same spirit, she also incorporates covers of Neil Young and Marianne Faithfull. In 2006 she moved to Constellations Records, and worked on new songs with musicians signed on the label, among them members of A Silver Mt. Zion and Godspeed You! Black Emperor , the result will be the album Evangelista , from which a band will be born in its own right. After Run (2012) in duet with her friend and drummer Ches Smith (who worked with Mr Bungle , Secret Chiefs 3 , Xiu Xiu ...), she returned in 2014 with Boy , an album with multiple facets sometimes Blues, Country but also gospel.
