Biography
David Bichard - Lloyd Carroll Battery - Martin Kirby Guitar - Josh Manitta Guitar - Ed Redclift Guitar - Bass
Formed in 2003 in Melbourne, Carpathian was originally composed of Martin Kirby (chant), David Bichard (battery), Chris Farmer (bass) and Anthony Harris (guitar). A second guitarist, Julian Marsh, joined them in 2004. In 2005, a first eponymous release was made at Washed Up, then the band toured for 18 months with confirmed bands such as Comeback Kid, Shai Hulud or Most Precious Blood. In 2006, the two guitarists left the band. They were replaced by Josh Manitta and Martin Kirby, who abandoned the song in favour of Michael Crafter (I Killed The Prom Queen). That same year, Carpathian joined Resist Records and recorded his first album, Nothing To Lose , which was released in 2007. The band performed with Killswitch Engage and Bleeding Through and then began a European tour in March with Parkway Drive and The Warriors. In 2007, Martin Kirby resumed singing and the guitar was devolved to Ben Coyte. Bassist Chris Farmer left the band, replaced by Ed Redclift. In December 2007, under this renewed line-up, Carpathian released a 7" two-track, Wrecked , carrying another style. In 2008, Ben Coyte's turn was to desert the ranks; He was replaced by Lloyd Caroll. In May, Australians joined Gateway Studios with Jay Maas ( Shipwreck , Verse ), signing in June at Deathwish Records and seeing their second album, Isolation , in the bins in November. A European tour, accompanied by Have Heart and Cruel Hand , closed the year.
