Biography

It was in the early 1980s in Switzerland that Tom Gabriel Fisher created Hellhammer with Bruce Day and Steve Warrior. After Apocalyptic Raids , becoming more and more popular especially in Germany, the members of the group decided to rename him Celtic Frost and embark on a dark and deep Dark / Doom. In 1984, they released their first successful album Morbid Tales, which will allow them to make their first tour in Germany. To Mega Therion released in 1985 consolidates the band's status as a pioneer of dark and experimental Metal. He makes a carton, and is also marked by a cover signed H.R Giger, taken from his work called "Satan I".
In the late 1980s, the band decided to include Death and Thrash Metal ingredients in its music, and it was the album Into The Pandemonium (1987) that was the first of them. Following an American tour, the band dissolved because of tensions and money problems. Tom did not step back in front of anything and decided six months later to reform the band with Stephen Priestly, Oliver Amberg and Curt Victor Bryant. Unfortunately their very commercial Cold Lake album is a real musical failure and plunges the band into a very bad period. Several line-up changes followed, including the departure of Amberg and the arrival of Ron Marks. The album Vanity/Nemesis , the fruit of this new line up, remains quite average on the musical level and does not win a great success. The band throws the sponge leaving behind it a compilation entitled Parched With Third Am I And Dying released in 1992.
11 years later, in 2003 Tom Fisher (song and rhythm guitar) reformed the band with Martin Ain (bass), Reed St. Mark (drums) and Erol Unala (solo guitar) and began the composition of a new album. But in the spring of 2006, the band separated from Reed St. Mark and Erol Unala. Fisher then recruited Franco Sesa to the battery. Some months later Celtic Frost's new mischief came out: Monotheist , an album of unexpected quality so long after the band's debut.
