Ceremony was born in 2004 in North Bay, California, of the meeting of singer Ross Farrar and bassist Justin Davis, former Hammertime members, with guitarist Anthony Anzaldo, all three fans of Oasis. They were quickly joined by Ryan Mattos (guitar) and Jake Cazarotti (battery). After a demo, ep Ruined released in December 2005 at Malfunction Records. It is followed in June 2006 by the album Violence, Violence . The band participated in the Sound and Fury Festival and performed with Lights Out and Go It Alone. Signed by Bridge Nine Records this summer 2006, the 7" Scarred People released in July 2007. It is supported by tours with Allegiance, Shipwreck and Blacklisted. Ceremony also began a European tour in August/September with Bane and Have Heart. Ceremony's second album, Still Nothing Moves You , recorded at Polymorph Studio and produced by Dan Rathbun ( His Hero Is Gone , Tragedy , From Ashes Rise ), was released in August 2008. The band then played in North America with Paint It Black, Soul Control, Vanguard, On, Sabertooth Zombie, Wolfes&Thieves and continued with an Australian tour with Carpathian and Shipwreck. From November, back in the U.S., Ceremony made dates with Have Heart and Blacklisted and then began a European tour with Never Healed. The quality of Still Nothing Moves You coupled with the furious and hallucinated concerts given by the group push Ceremony on the front of the hardcore scene. In January 2010, Californians took over the studio route with the same Dan Rathbun. Rohnert Park , third album by Ceremony released in June 2010, still at Bridge Nine Records. In the autumn, the band made a European tour and U.S. playing notably with Punch and Sabertooth Zombie . He becomes a bow figure of hardcore. Against all odds, Ceremony left Bridge Nine Records in June 2011 and signed with Matador Records, then returned to Europe during the summer with The Carrier and Polar Bear Club. In August, also released the latest production by Bridge Nine, an EP composed of six times simply entitled 6 Cover Songs.
