Children Of Bodom
Biography
The story begins in 1993 in the city of Espoo in Finland with the creation of the group Inearthed which releases several demos. In 1996, they changed their name to Children Of Bodom. Name from one of Finland's most mysterious murder cases: the Bodom Lake murders. Four young campers at night, three died, stabbed, and the last was interned, assuring that it was the work of the Grim Reaper, who became a mascot of the group. The following year, the band signed with Nuclear Blast and released Something Wild, an excellent album, but discreet in the middle of Nordic Metal. The band is also filming with Dimmu Borgir. In 1999, the Finnish released their second album, Hatebreeder, which reveals them to the world. The band's sound takes a much more aggressive and much faster turn. They take advantage of this success to shoot Japan in June and record their first live: Tokyo Warhearts. The fall of 2000 saw the arrival of Follow The Reaper, which remained in the vein of his predecessor, while marking the continued evolution of the band.
After a small hollow, the band takes over the compositions and delivers us in 2003 Hate Crew Deathroll , an album marking the band's turn towards heavier compositions. During the ensuing tour, Alexander Kuoppala left the band to be replaced by Roope Latvala (Stone , Sinergy ). Finally, in 2005, the album Are You Dead Yet was released. The latter is surely the one who made the most of the excitement among fans of the Finnish combo: slow tempo, heavy guitars, Children Of Bodom has not finished surprising!
