Chimaira
Biography
Formed in 1998 in Cleveland, Chimaira became a closely monitored band in a few years, the band's albums and live performances mark the spirits by their power, the violence unleashed by music (and singing) and the incredible energy deployed on stage. After an ep (This Present Darkness ) very quickly passed 10,000 copies the band signed at Roadrunner Records and released Pass Out Of Existence a year later, in 2001. A blend of Hardcore, Metal and Thrash, the band begins, with other sizes like Killswitch Engage, a style that will soon become popular: Metalcore. Mixing hardness of Hardcore and Metal with melodic passages with most often a screamed song interspersed with a clear song. Two years later Chimaira handed over the cover and book The Impossibility Of Reason . The band somewhat abandoned the facilities of the beginning and complicated its music and incorporated again as huge influences Heavy / Thrash / Speed. Regulated as a metronome Chimaira returns in 2005 to dry us, after a live DVD, an eponymous album that is increasingly different from the original style for a much more direct and compact Metal.
In 2006, Andols Herrick returned behind the drums and the band left Roadrunner Records to sign at Nuclear Blast , a label on which they released Resurrection in March 2007 and T he Infection in 2009. On July 20, 2010, released the band's 1st live: Coming live , containing a CD and 2 DVD. At the end of 2010, after 10 years as a bass player, LaMarca decided to leave the group to look after his family. After the bassist's departure, keyboardist Chris Spicuzza also left Chimaira, as well as drummer Andols Herrick who had differences with the rest of the band. Chris Harris (Hatebreed , Murderdolls ) was recruited to mix their new opus, The Age of Hell , released in August 2011. In early 2012, Matt DeVries and Rob Arnold left Chimaira; Emil Werstler then took over the position of guitarist, and Jemery Creamer (from the DÅÅTH group) took over the position of bassist. April 2013, the band unveils a teaser and the date of their next album Crown of Phantoms released on July 30, 2013. September 2014, Mark Hunter announced on the Internet that the band was breaking up, with the other members all leaving the band during the previous two days.
