Biography

Born in 1964 in Seattle, Chris Cornell is internationally known as the singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave. During his difficult childhood, marked by a violent depression, he found refuge in music, with the Beatles as an initiation, then he started playing drums and guitar. Starting in 1984 with his first band, he recorded 6 albums with Soundgarden, including Badmotorfinger and Superunknown which contained the huge success Black Hole Sun. The album sells 7 million copies. At the time, a little quickly joined to the grunge scene, Soundgarden practiced a varied and abrasive rock, sometimes psyched and even stoner, inspired by 70's sounds, Led Zeppelin in the lead. In 1991, Cornell recorded an album paying tribute to his friend Andrew Wood, who died of an overdose, at Temple Of The Dog, which included future members of Pearl Jam. The album includes Hunger Strike , a duo with Eddie Vedder.
In 1997, Soundgarden splite, and Cornell ended up recording his first solo album, Euphoria Morning , released in 1999. This one contains the song Wave Goodbye , a tribute to his friend Jeff Buckley who disappeared a few years earlier, from which he seems to have drawn some influences. Following the split of Rage Against The Machine, Chris Cornell was approached by the band's musicians, orphaned by Zack de la Rocha. He accepted their proposal and the band Audioslave thus formed recorded 3 albums between 2002 and 2006, attracting a lot of success from the beginning, while ostensibly dredging rock mainstream. At the end of 2006, Chris Cornell recorded the title You Know My Name for the BO of the new James Bond, Casino Royale, and started working on a second solo album. As Tom Morello became more involved in his own solo project The Nightwatchman , Audioslave , without a tour, ended up splintering in February 2007. Carry We go out in June 2007 and confirm that the crazy dog, still alcoholic a few years ago, has aged, preferring the comfort of all public rock to its tears of old.
