Church Of Misery
Biography
Church Of Misery was born in 1996 following the impulse of Tatsu Mikami (ex-Salem) and Tomohiro Nishimura. Nobukazu and Hideki Shimizu join them with the firm intention to combine the Metal of Black Sabbath and Trouble ancestors with their obsession with serial killers. The group's first three official recordings are those appearing on the Doomsday Recitation compilation in 1998. Several productions follow along with trainings such as Sheavy, Iron Monkey or Millarca. Church Of Misery signed at Southern Lord in 2001 for the release of Master Of Brutality on which a new singer, Yoshiaki Negishi, and a new drummer, Junji Narita, are operating. In 2006, the Japanese teamed up with Sourvein for a European tour. The band is today a reference of the genre and has won thanks to Houses Of The Holy released in 2009 by Rise Above Records. In 2013, they returned with Thy Kingdom Scum. Next in 2016 And There Were None... .
