Civet
Biography
Originally from California, Civet has the unusual feature of being a group composed solely of girls. It was formed by Ms Liza Graves (chant/guitar) when she left school, guided by the desire to bring together musicians from the female gente to seriously embark on punk. Civet will also include Suzi Homewrecker (guitar/song), Jacqui Valentine (bass/song) and Danni Harrowyn (battery). They self-proclaimed to be a "fatal woman punk rock band" (sic) and sign on the famous subsidiary of Epitaph, Hellcat Records.
They released their first album, Massacre in 2006. Obviously inspired by a band like The Distillers, Civet turns out to be a cross between Rancid and Motörhead female version. This first album and subsequent concerts will attract the attention of Tim Armstrong ( Rancid ) who will compose one of the songs of the second album released in 2008, Hell Hath No Fury . Shortly after the latter's release, Roxie Darling will take place behind the drums. The promotion of this opus will lead them to shoot a lot, mainly in the USA, but also outside Uncle Sam's borders with passages in Japan. They have recently made the first part of the Dropkick Murphys and will support for their greatest social distortion pleasure in the coming weeks. A few dates for Europe are also planned for this summer.
