Cold
Biography
Cold , who at the time was called Grundig , formed in 1996 with Scooter Ward (Chant, Guitar), Sam McCandless (Battery), Jeremy Marshall (Basse) and Matt Loughran (Guitare). The band, initially based in Jacksonville, moved to Atlanta hoping to break into the music industry. They are spotted by Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) who encourages Ward to record two acoustic songs (Ugly and Check Please ) to the famous producer Ross Robinson who appreciates their work. With the release of Cold in 1998, the band quickly became known for its lyrics evoking the pain and particular voice of the singer Scooter Ward and their mix of Post-Grunge and Neo-Metal which was low at that time. Following the measured success of the album Cold , Geffen Records funds their second album, 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage , which was released in 2000, then Year Of The Spider in 2003, which remains the band's greatest commercial success. A Different Kind Of Pain appeared at Atlantic Records in 2005. At the end of 2006, Ward announced that after a period of uncertainty, the group had decided to separate. Yet in July 2008, it was announced that the band's original line-up will meet for a new studio album. This is announced for 2011 and is called Superfiction.
