Colin Stetson

Colin Stetson is hard to catalogue in a few lines. Signed at Constellation , playing several hip instruments (mainly the saxophone and clarinet) and able to turn with Arcade Fire or Bon Iver , the Canadian is not easily put in check. Let us simply note that his melodic and emotional writing makes as many detours as the sinuousness of his wind instruments. If we want to put words on notes, Colin Stetson's music is often described as avant-garde jazz or free jazz, made of improvisations according to his moods. At his working hours of Mats Gustafsson and Evan Parker at his lost times, the saxophonist released Never Were The Way She Was, his latest album in 2015: a collaboration with the one who shares her couple in the city, violinist Sarah Neufeld.
