Cor Scorpii
Biography
Following the death of Valfar and the end of Windir in 2004 and while other members founded Vreid , the keyboardist Gaute Refsnes chose to set up his own project, Cor Scorpii ("Coeur du Scorpion"), named in reference to Antares, the brightest star in the constellation of the Scorpion. He is joined by two other former Windir, guitarist Strom and drummer Steingrim, and recruits bassist / accordionist Inge Jonny Lomheim, guitarist / mandolinist Rune Sjøthun, and singer Thomas S. Øvstedal. After recording the Attergangar demo in 2005, Steingrim chose to focus on his other band Vreid; It was not until late 2006 that he was found a replacement in the person of Ole Nordsve ( Celebratum ). Cor Scorpii played his first concerts in 2007 before moving on to the album Monument , which was released in March 2008. 2010 marks Strom's departure for Vreid; the guitarist Erlend Nybø ( Funeral ) arrives. If the line-up has been stable since then, you still have to wait until June 2018 for a second album: Ruin .
