Biography

Cortez was born in Switzerland in 2001 founded by Jr (Chant), Sam (Guitare) and Greg (Battery). After a year of work, the band made its debut on stage. They are found in the company of Gojira but also of Iscariote . In 2004, Cortez recorded a three-track demo that received many encouraging reviews. A year later, the Swiss performed the first part of Jesu and Isis in Bordeaux. Their first album entitled Initial was released on Radar Swarm / Exutoire Records in September 2005 and became a monument of its kind for its complexity and absolute extremism. A split with Ventura followed him in 2006. For six years, the band gave almost no sign of life, until announcing a slit release with Plebeian Grandstand for October 2012, or a brand new 12-minute title, followed by the second opus Phoebus in 2013. A few years later, new line-up changes, but also new album with No More Conqueror, available in 2018.
