Counterfeit

Counterfeit comes from Lyon and takes his first discographic steps in 2000 with an eponymous home-made demo; The group starts with a heavy metal that can be brought closer to some groups Neo but we already feel in the compositions of Lyonnais a desire to go further. This is confirmed with their first album 4 years later; Between the end & the middle gives in much heavier sounds, one thinks then of Neurosis , Isis or Tool , but to this one could add shades more Rock or New Wave. Certainly a group apart in the French landscape the combo returns to prove it to us in 2007 with Don't let me fall asleep again . An album exclusively distributed via legal download on the band's site, small price but behind big production (cf. the chronicle) for eleven very personal tracks even if not so far from an Isis or a Tool .
