Crazy Arm
Biography
Originally from Plymouth in Devon (United Kingdom), Simon Marsh and Jon Dailey (ex-No Comply) formed the Crazy Arm combo with Darren Johns (ex- The Once Over Twice) in mid-2005. But it was only a year later, at the separation of their respective formations, that they became active within it. Very quickly, the need for a fourth member is felt and it is Dan Couling (ex- Toxic Waste Brigade) who is re-employing. Sonic Boom Six will be the first to give them a chance on a 2-week national tour with Failsafe and Random Hand in October 2006. They then gathered their various experiences and influences to record the following year a first self-produced EP, Cross Country , at PMC Studio in Plymouth. From its first concerts, the band attracted attention with its unusual folf punk/country mix and won mini-tours in England. Although not very prolific, 2008 is an important year for Crazy Arm, who, conscious of their potential, repeat a lot in order to refine their technique and style. It is also during this year that the majority of the first opus, Born to Ruin, is composed. They recorded it in spring 2009 with the famous indie producer Pete Miles and the support of Xtra Mile Recordings who released the cake in June. For the occasion, the majority of the first EP titles will be re-recorded (the singles will be "Henry Fabian Flynn", "Broken by the Wheel" and "Still to Keep"). The noise is beginning to spread across the rest of Europe, especially as a 7" split as well as a mini tour with Frank Turner are announced, and Gunner Records supports the album in March 2010 for the rest of the continent. Born to Ruin reaffirms the commitments of the atheist, internationalist and communist quartet, anti-war, which supports the struggles for human and animal rights. After a second wave of promotional tour, the single "Ambertown / Sweet Storm" makes fans wait in December '10. Because the second opus is already on track and its composition will spread over the first half of 2011. The first single "Tribs/animals" appeared in July, before a tour in the United Kingdom in August (with Fights&Fires and Bearfighter). Union City Breath is then announced by the end of September '11, on the same labels as Born to Ruin. In October and November, they go to promote it on the roads of the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe in the first part of Against Me! .
