Biography

Damantra's roots date back to a duo of acoustic Blues, formed in Franche-Comté by Mélanie Kneisky on singing and Virgile Jennevin on guitar. Expatriates to Toulouse, the two friends join Teddy Chretien, a drummer with Metal influences and incidentally another franc-comtois escaped to the South. All three find common ground between Blues and Metal by proposing a Groovy and Venerous Rock with a strand of Prog. Robin Fleutials completed the training at the end of 2017 as a bassist, and the band recorded an eponymous EP in the wake. It is available on their bandcamp. Damantra then released an album ( Broken ) in 2019 and a new EP ( Jekyll And Hyde ) in 2020, with a change of drummer. The group returned in 2023 with the EP Comet , presenting an imaging and a slightly more typed sound 70s.
