Biography
David Raymond: singing, guitar Joshua Sparks: guitar Steve Downs: drums Jayson Dezuzio: bass
When in February 2005 David Raymond decides to set up a new project following the dissolution of the League group, he trains with him his former acolyte Matthew Kipp to form Damiera. The Buffalo duo, NY, quickly realized that their ambitions required a complete band and invited their friend Bradley McRae (Sleeping Girl Drowning) and bassist Mark Henry (who abandoned Queen City Knights) to join them. 3 months later the quartet had already recorded an eponymous first EP and booked a 2-month tour. It was at the end of this first circuit that Kipp left the band and was later replaced by Rock Whittington (Punch People).
The new quartet immediately starts working and works on 10 tracks that will form their first album m(us)ic (2006). Jayson DeZuzio, who previously recorded with Coheed and Cambria and My Chemical Romance, is responsible for the production of this EP, printed at 1000 copies for Tamerlane Recordings. During the band's almost 200 concerts in '06, the album will be exhausted and during the summer Equal Vision offers to sign them for a reissue of the opus in the first time. The group accepts and on 23 January '07 releases this second press of the disc. A tour with The Fall of Troy , Portugal the Man and Tera Melos followed at the beginning of the year, before the band announced its separation on 14 April, with 3 of the 4 members suddenly turning to other horizons. But Raymond's motivation pushes him to get Damiera back. On June 13, a newsletter announced that the group is back with a new line up: Steve Downs and Josh Sparks (2 ex- Spirit of the Stairway) and Jayson Dezuzio are the new recruits. The newly recomposed quartet repeats a few weeks before going on tour for a month in August.
