Biography

Darkspace is a trio of Black Metal / Swiss Ambient created in 1999 by Wroth (Landscape D'Hiver ), Zorgh and Zhaaral (Sun Of The Blind ). Very different from Black-Metal's ''classical'' bands, Darkspace is distinguished by a musical minimalism and a concept that revolves around the immensity and coldness of space. In 2002 the first Dark Space -I demo was released, with only two tracks exceeding 10min but already laying the basics of Darkspace's sound: difficult to access, with compact guitars saturated to the extreme and a box with almost inaudible rhythm. Dark Space I which follows a year later announces the band's success and is often considered their best album. In 2005, Dark Space II aroused the same enthusiasm, with an improved production and began to make itself known. With the first two albums released with 500 copies but exhausted, Avantgarde Music decided to reissue them with new covers. After three years of silence, Dark Space III marks the return of the Swiss, which propels Darkspace on the front of the Black-Metal scene, the opus being incensed by critics. Darkspace also gives very few interviews and only rarely performs in concert, where they are animated by only one blue light and many smokes, leaving hardly any distinction between musicians. Moreover, the lack of information about its members, the fact that the records were very difficult to acquire in their early days and the enigmatic designs of album covers reinforce the myth created around the band.
