Biography

Dead Can Dance is a monument, a sacred group, by its music, its status unanimously recognized. From his work came not only the whole stream of music from the worlds to the contemporary Western, especially in cinema, but also, and this will interest us more in these pages, all heavenly voice aesthetics intimately linked to all the Gothic scene. While in the 80's the punk ended up making more waves and putting its energy into more and more currents, Dead Can Dance distilled from its beginning the post-punk to keep only the tribal side and developed an ethnic side in his music, which sought above all beauty.
Born of a meeting between two strange beings, Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, and in a few years brought to the rank of myth, the duo Dead Can Dance, formed in Australia but English of origin, chained the records. The above-named post-punk bases will soon be blended into pure heavenly music, whose mastery of watch from the band's third album, Within The Realm of A Dying Sun , which could be by itself the very definition of this genre. From this very moment, DCD will go to the musics of the world and of history, following several periods, medieval and religious on The Snake
From the early 1990s, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry both began a solo career in parallel with Dead Can Dance, and each tended to leave more room for them. In 1998, the training was divided due to differences of opinion on how to conduct the project. In 2005, the duo decided to reform for a farewell tour around the world.
