Biography

In 2005, during the reformation tour of the post-rock band Slint , David Pajo ( Tortoise , Zwan ), Todd Cook ( Shipping News , Crain ) and Michael Mcmahan ( The For Carnation , Phantom Family Halo , Starkiller ) together decided to set up a side project whose major ambition is to play "aggressive" music, inspired by the first records of Metallica , Iron Maiden and Judas Priest so cherished by our three "scrapers" during their youth. Following previous collaborations of the various members, Tony Bailey (Crain , Lords , Brothers Of Conquest ) and Dahm ( Phantom Family Halo , Starkiller ), respectively drummer and singer, are recruited and Dead Child is born in the city of Louisville, Kentucky. A first concert was given on August 19, 2006 at Lisas Oak Street Lounge alongside Pusher and Lords , immediately showing the musical orientation of the five Americans: a heavy metal crude decomposing and without concession. After the release in February 2007 of an EP at Cold Sweat Records, Dead Child is hard looking for a label to deliver his first effort. It was finally Quarterstick Records that gave the band this chance and Attack was released in April 2008.
