Flavio Panero (Battery until August 2007)
Dead Elephant is a northern Italian trio influenced by the noise scene of the 90s ( Cherubs, Unsane, Colossamite) and more nuanced and psychedelic formations ( Neurosis, Ash Ra Tempel, Cluster). It shows a heavy, dynamic and homogeneous sound, taking many paths in an unpredictable way. In 2005 the transalpines released a first album on the American label Miracle Records (Helios Creed, Christpunchers and Lair of the Minotaur ). In December 2007, Dead Elephant recorded a first album (distributed in Europe, the USA and Canana) named Lowest Shared Descent, in which Luca Mai (Zu's Saxophonist) and Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) appeared. As early as January 2008, Dead Elephant continued the concerts in France and Italy, prefiguring a larger tour. 2011 sees the release of a second record still inspired by our death friend, Thanatology, in an even more greasy vein.
