Death Grips
Biography
Death Grips was formed in Sacramento in 2010 by multi-instrumentalist with a thousand Zach Hill projects (Hella , Flössin ...) and rapper Stefan Burnett alias MC Ride. Quickly joined by producer Andy Morin, the band released its first self-produced demo the following year and was quickly noticed by a staggered vision of Hip Hop. After talking about him with the mixtape Exmilitary , Death Grips signed in 2012 at Epic Records and released his first album The Money Store , whose critics are quite unanimous about his excellence. These stunning debuts are followed by the first concert cancellations, triggering the anger of their record company and fans. That same year, the band finished its second effort No Love Deep Web and set up a huge, human-sized promotional role-playing game around it, making the entire internet community lose its head following the trio closely. The idea of releasing this album the same year that The Money Store is not of Epic Records' taste, an altercation broke out between the band and the label from which the unauthorized posting of the album and the dismissal of the band from its record company will result. The Californians also had the brilliant idea of bribing their Zach Hill drummer's penis pouch to make it unsold. Following the duo concerts either MC Ride/Zach Hill or MC Ride/Andy Morin, without label, without promotion, the band, whose fame is growing on the web, released the surprise album Government Plates in 2013. A free vision of the music that the band will repeat with Niggas On The Moon in 2014, the first part of the double album The Powers That B on which we find the voice of singer Björk , before announcing her "separation" some time later. Jenny Death , the second part of the double album was released in 2015, a prolific year for the band that will go back on tour and say that other albums will be released. In 2016, Bottomless Pit was released free of charge on the group's official website.
