Death In Vegas
Biography
Death In Vegas was originally a duo, composed of Richard Fearless and Steve Hellier, who turned to styles such as rock, electro, dub, krautrock and psyche, varying according to his desires. Formed in 1994 and signed by Concrete Records under the name Dead Elvis , the combo quickly became known as Death In Vegas by keeping Dead Elvis as its name for its first album. Soon after the release of this first opus, Hellier left the band and was replaced by Tim Holmes. The Contino Sessions was released in 1999 and featured artists such as Iggy Pop, Jim Reid (The Jesus and Mary Chain) and Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream). The success comes with the title Dirge , used like soundtrack for a Levi's ad then for a few other commercial purposes (especially cinematographic). In 2002, Scorpio Rising, their 3rd album, arrived in the bins, with first single Hands Around My Throat. The name is inspired by a film of the same name and we still find the single as soundtrack for a commercial and the film Animatrix . Girls , another composition by Death In Vegas , is used for various movies ( Lost In Translation , DEBS ) and an episode of the Veronica Mars series. A best-of, Milk It, arrived in 2004, while Death In Vegas set its own label, Drone Records, in which they made Satan's Circus the same year. Seven years later, Trans-Love Energies came out while the recording was made in 2008. Richard Fearless said he needed a break.
