Demons And Wizards

American guitarist Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) and German singer Hansi Kürsch ( Blind Guardian) joined in friendship in the early 1990s, while their respective bands toured together in Europe. A joint project took shape in 1997, named Demons&Wizards after an album by Uriah Heep . A first eponymous record was released in 1999. The band then returned in 2005 with Touched By The Crimson King, largely inspired by Stephen King's saga, The Dark Tower. Subsequently, the project was not abandoned but put on hold because of the busy schedule of both actors. It was only in 2018 that Demons & Wizards resurfaced, announcing "exciting news", the first of which was their participation in the 2019 edition of the Wacken Open Air.
