Depressed Mode
Biography
Depressed Mode came out of the shadow in 2005 in the form of a one man band orchestrated by Ossy Salonen (Battery / Claviers / Chant). After a year of composing and receiving numerous advice on the incorporation of guitars, he decided to recruit his friend Tomppa Turpeinen (Guitare) to take care of it. Some time later, Natalie Koskinen ( Shape Of Despair) contacted Salonen to participate in the project and she was very soon engaged as a singer. It only takes the band a few months to get a deal of two albums from Firedoom Records, after the failure of negotiations with an obscure French label. Ghosts Of Devotion ended up in 2007, after a complete line-up was set up, where the trio was added: Marissa Marjamäki (Chant), Jori Haukio (Violoncelle) and Marko Tommila (Battery). Henri Hakala (Basse) joined the formation shortly afterwards and Iiro Aittokoski (Battery - Mors Principium Est ) replaced Marko and Teemu Heinola (Guitare - Mors Principium Est ) was also recruited. This is how the eight musicians.ne.s released . .For Death.. in 2009 at Firedoom Music. Depressed Mode splits up the following year and in 2018 Natalie Koskinen explains in an interview that Ossy wanted to focus on his family life and his work. In 2020, however, Ossy reactive Depressed Mode in a quartet format with some of his former companions: Henri (Basse), Iiro (Battery) and Teemun (Guitare). Decade Of Silence , their third album, appeared in 2022 at Inverse Records.
