Biography
The band formed during 2002 in Montreal, Quebec, around members of Neuraxis, Necrotic Mutation, Nihilistic Mass Refractors and Apostasy. With its amazing blend of Death Metal, Grind and Hardcore, Despised icon is now considered one of the pioneers of the Deathcore movement. Quickly, the combo records and releases a first album titled Consumer By Your Poison. The vocalist of the time, Marie-Hélène Landry (Vociferation), was left the ranks, and it was Alexandre Erian, then drummer, who decided to take the microphone in order to accompany Steve Marois, second singer of the formation. Then came a deal with the Century Media label and the release of The Healing Process in 2005. With this opus, Despised Icon increases his reputation and will become truly international following the release of The Ills of Modern Man in 2007. The band recorded a fourth studio album in 2009, Day of Mourning , then came the separation, Despised Icon leaves a very important legacy in Deathcore, they are considered one of the best bands in style. In 2014, the Canadians announced a temporary reformation, they will travel part of North America and Europe to the delight of fans.
