Biography

Brian : Chant Charley : Damien Guitar : Bass Donny : Battery
Deviates does not derogate from the rule of groups formed in a garage during a watered weekend; It was in 1994 that 4 teenagers wanted to form their group in South Bay, California (where Pennywise came from, 98 Mute, 1208, Black Flag ... ) Our four young boys took the instruments for the first time: Charley on guitar, Damien on bass, Donny on drums, and the last, Brian, who started singing by default, for lack of a dedicated instrument. A line-up that won't move until the end.
The years that followed served above all to warm up the group who would only leave his garage after a demo in 1995 and a larger (21 tracks, including "One Day" which would open this time a few years later). The Deviates began to turn around their patelin and make a name for themselves. The little boost of destiny came towards the end of the millennium when one of this famous demo landed in the letter box of Fletcher Dragge ( Pennywise). The latter greatly appreciated what he had just heard, proposing to our lucky young people to produce their first album.
Produced by Dragge, My Life released on Theological Records in August 2000. This first opus obviously allows them to increase their popularity, and so they join the Warped Tour that same year, coupled with a signature on Epitaph. The band has already composed new titles but summer and its Warped Tour clearly cut their momentum and postponed the recording from their second cake to later. Sweat and pounds less, it's with some extra songs, composed on the road, that Brett Gurewitz's new protégés begin recording My Life's successor.
Time is a Distance therefore appears less than a year later, in 2001. Armed with their single "Come With Me" and his thirteen little sisters, Deviates went on tour for two years (with a new passage to the Warped Tour) but ended up separating prematurely in 2003.
