Biography
As Coal Chamber enters the studio for the last time for Dark Days recording, its singer Dez Fafara, in search of more extreme musical horizons, meets by chance guitarist Evan Pitts. The two men became friends and Jeffrey Kendrick, Jon Miller and John Boecklin joined the band shortly after. DevilDriver was born. The split of Coal Chamber allows Dez Fafara to devote herself fully to DevilDriver and the group delivers its first opus at the end of October 2003. Evan Pitts left the band and founded Veinglory, and Mike Sprettizer came to replace him on guitars. A loss of size for the band, which soon returned to the studios, accompanied by Colin Richardson, for the recording of The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand. The album was released in June 2005. This one, even if it sells well, leaves a bitter taste to the fans. Less inspired, less taking, he presents himself as a pale copy of the previous one. Fafara and her band do not give up and return in 2007 with The Last Kind Words, put forward via the single Not All Who Wander Are Lost. Touring and festivals (Ozzfest , Download Fest ), the band takes little rest. Early 2009, DevilDriver announced the release of their next Opus Pray For Villains on July 14 of the same year. Faithful to himself, the quintet resumes the paths of the concert halls with for example Slipknot, 3 Inches Of Blood, All That Remains, Behemoth or Suicide Silence.
DevilDriver can be found in the game Rock Band (Clouds Over California) and in an episode of the Scrubs series (Devil's Son and Driving Down the Darkness).
