Devourment

Group ultra-cult for some, inaudible noise for others, Devourment is nevertheless one of the major groups of the brutal death US, legendary in the brutal underground world. Through his first album Molesting The Decapitated, Devourment has created a new branch of the brutal death: the Texas Death Metal or TXDM, brutal music to the possible blending slowdowns and unstoppable mosh-parts, coupled with a crazy speed and a most guttural voice. Formed in 1995 in Dallas by drummer Brad Fincher and vocalist Wayne Knupp, and joined by bassist Mike Majeswki, the band released its first Impaled demo in 1997 which quickly made the band famous in the American underground. A solid base of fans is formed very quickly. Subsequently, Wayne Knupp and Brain (guitarist) left the band because of differences with Mike and Brad. A replacement will soon be found in the person of Ruben Rosas, guitarist/singer, whose style very close to Wayne Knupp will become cult thanks to the album Molesting The Decapitated , released in 1999, huge bomb that will be the basis of the brutal genre of TXDM (later taken up by bands like Goratory , Disgorge (US) or Gutrot ). Shortly after the Molesting tour, Ruben Rosas was arrested and sentenced to 2 years in prison. The band will split and then reshaped later, with Wayne Knupp in vocals. This line-up will record a new song, Babykiller, which will be released on disk 1.3.8 regrouping all the discography of the Texas combo. The band will decide, however, not to do a concert again. When Ruben Rosas was released in 2005, he returned to Devourment as guitarist/singer and assisted Wayne Knupp. The combo will end up with two singers and will begin recording his new album Butcher The Weak . But again, Wayne Knupp will leave the band, and Mike Majewski, bass player, will be the vocalist, while Ruben will remain as guitarist. Butcher The Weak finally released in December 2005, finally filling fans' expectations.
