Biography

DGM is created in 1994 in Italy by three musicians who choose the name of the band through their initials: D iego Reali (guitars and bass), G ianfranco Tassella (battery), and M aurizio Pariotti (claviers). The singer Luciano Regoli quickly joined them, then bassist Ingo Schwartz. This line-up will release their first album in 1997: Change Direction . Staff changes become regular from that time onwards, although albums continue to release fairly regularly. During the release of Misplaced , DGM's fifth album at the end of 2004, the band was for the first time composed of the same musicians as the previous one (Hidden Place in 2003). On these two albums, the new keyboardist Fabio Sange brings progressive influences to the very Power Metal music that DGM played until then. Unfortunately stability did not last, since Different Shapes was released in 2007 with Emanuele Casali on keyboards and Simone Mularoni on guitar, replacing Fabio Sange and Diego Reali respectively. With the latter's departure in 2006, DGM no longer has a founding member in its line-up. The new guitarist brings to Different Shapes an extremely precise touch that further strengthens the progressive aspect of combo music. In 2008, the singer Titta Tani left the adventure after the album Frame . He gave way to Mark Basile. Since then, DGM seems to no longer evolve its composition, consisting of new blood. The Italians released the best-of-synthesis in 2010 and then the Momentum album in 2013, in which Russel Allen ( Symphony X) participated.
