Biography

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter is a German metal band formed in 1995 by Fuchs (chant/guitar, then known as Eumel) and Skelleton (battery), soon joined by Volk-Man (bass) and Dr. Pest (claviers). The group first operates in a death register tinted with folk and alternates texts in English and German. The first album, Soft And Stronger, was released in 1997, followed in 1999 by Allegro Barbaro. 2000 is marked by the departure of Skeleton, replaced by Sir G, as well as the release of All You Need Is Love, which has some success.
Following an injury to the elbow of Fuchs in 2002, the band included a second guitarist, Pitrone, and the five riders of the apocalypse signed at Nuclear Blast for the release of Have A Nice Trip in 2003 and then Samurai at the end of 2004, where the death side of the beginnings was abandoned in favour of a clear song and more accessible compositions. Riders On The Storm , in 2006, was the last album with Pitrone, replaced in 2008 by Lady Cat-Man, herself replaced the following year by Ady. 2008 also saw the release of Licht , the first album entirely in German, an example that Moral&Wahnsinn will follow in 2011 and Tief. Tiefer. in 2014.
After a break in 2016, the band returned in 2017 with its tenth album, Der Rote Reiter .
