Dismal
Biography
Italian band created in Turin in 1995 by musicians Bradac (Stefano Italiano) and Parsifal (Cadarb Afelio), Dismal plays metaphors, symbols and poetic images to make a gothic-inspired music live. The duo quickly released a first demo called Our Sad Saga in 1996 playing all the instruments, then briefly recruited Frater Alchemoth Katharian (Basse) and Alessandro Verando (Guitare) who would only stay in the band for the demo The Holy Prayer Of Shatephyn To The Mighty Blazing Ice-Sword which appeared in 1997. In 1998, Bradac and Parsifal recorded a first album, "Fiaba lacrimevole" - Like A Red Bleeding Rose In A Glacial Desert... with singer Margan, between theatrical atmosphere and dreamlike dreams. In 2001 the ep Dionisaca , recorded with another singer, Ae, who brings a beautiful fame to Dismal who signs on the label Dreamcell 11 Entertainment, followed in 2003, by Rubino Liquido - Three Scarlet Drops... with the participation of an orchestra of twelve musicians.ne.s. We must wait until 2006 for their third album, with the amazing Miele Dal Salice , recorded with jazz singer Rossana Landi and described as a waltz for the spirit. However, following this album, Parsifal leaves Dismal leaving the project in a silence of several years. It is not until 2013 that the project is redesigned and Bradac, now on keyboard / piano, surrounds Daniele Porfido (Guitare), Valerio Mosso (Violon) and Rossana Landi (Chant / Bass) for the release of Giostra Di Vapore , still via Dreamcell 11 Entertainment. Valerio Mosso is replaced by Lauraro Acosta for the release of Quinta Essentia in 2020. Valerio Mosso returned to Dismal in 2023 for the release of Via Entis, with a new singer: Caterina Accorsi.
