Doctor Butcher

After his withdrawal from Savatage in 1992, the singer/multi-instructor Jon Oliva was contacted by guitarist Chris Cafferty (who had temporarily joined the band in 1989) to set up a new project. An album is recorded as Doctor Butcher, but following the Atlantic Records label's decision to give priority to Savatage, the record will not be released in the United States. He will nevertheless arrive in Europe on the GUN label. A second album is soon begun but will not finally be released, especially with the return of the two musicians to their previous band.
