Doomtree

Doomtree is a group and Hip Hop label based in Minneapolis, although the line-up has undergone some fluctuations in the first few years, it has since stabilized and there is Cecil Otter (MC, Producer), Dessa (MC), Mike Mictlan (MC), P.O.S (MC, Producer), Sims (MC), Lazerbeak (Producer, Label Patron) and Paper Tiger (DJ, Producer, Graphic Artist). In 2001, P.O.S. and M.K. Larada two high school buddies who create music, founded what would become Doomtree, over time the current members joined, others left, the last arrival being Dessa in 2005. In 2007 the band finally released its first EP, the one that responds to the name of False Hopes is actually the twelfth of a series of creations, a kind of mix-tapes in which we find among others reworked songs, and which are published by the collective, but also by the different members solo. While each unit of the Minnesota crew has since experienced success in its own career, the desire to create together is each time stronger, so in 2008 Doomtree decides to release a real first album, we find in this eponymous collaborations with I Self Devine (signed by Rhymesayers), and Crescent Moon (former member of Oddjobs). The artists work in the meantime on the albums of each one, it is in 2011 that a second mischief is announced, No Kings arrives in November, his name refers both to respect "do not seek the throne", but also to the rebellion "do not obey any king". Since 2005, Doomtree is used to organizing the Blowout, an event that takes place in December, in which it occurs and invites friends to do so, in September 2014 the last edition is announced, and to cut short the rumors of split, the collective announces its third opus, .38 Airweight and Gray Duck two new songs are revealed in autumn 2014, they advance All Hands that released in January 2015.
