Biography

The beginnings of what Draconian will be are started in 1994 when three Swedish climb Kerberos , a group of Heavy / Death largely influenced by the scene Black Metal then booming in Scandinavia. A few months later, Anders Jacobbson joined the group whose surname then became what he was. The band then began to move towards heavier and slower sounds, including Gothic influences to its music, thanks to the arrival in its ranks of female members on flute, singing and keyboard. Shades Of A Lost Moon , first demo of the consequence combo thus sees the light of day after several studio sessions in 1995.
In the meantime, and after several line-up changes, everyone is trying to compose new titles, which, despite some new line-up changes, are recorded in 1997 and 1999 on demos In Glorious Victory and The Closed Eyes Of Paradise. Both suffer from an execrable production that forces Draconian not to officially release either record, and it is rather the stage reputation of the Swedish band that makes him known.
After these relative studio failures, Draconian takes more time, seeking to reflect on each of his choices, his evolutions, and this is how the group moves from a gothic metal to a melodic doom slower and more pleasant than before, ripening his compositions and identity. He followed an ep two tracks, Frozen Features (2000), and a new demo, Dark Oceans We Cry (2002), which this time revealed the full potential of the training, thanks to a much better production than on previous demos.
The band's reputation reaches the corridors of the Napalm Records label, which signs a contract with several albums. Where Lovers Mourn opened the ball in 2003, revealing Draconian to a wider audience a band oscillating between Doom Death and Doom Gothic, with graceful, poetic and close-to-standard melodies of the genre, My Dying Bride in the lead, but with a rather personal touch thanks to a mixture of male and female songs. Followed in 2005 Arcane Rain Fell , then in 2006 The Burning Halo , a kind of compilation with unreleased by the band, titles of the demo The Closed Eyes Of Paradise , and covers. Draconian released his fourth album, Turning Season Within in 2008, then A Rose For The Apocalypse in 2011.
