Biography

Californian punk rock band leader Rocket From The Crypt , Rick Froberg and guitarist John Reis formed Drive Like Jehu in 1990 with bass player Mike Kennedy and drummer Mark Trombino. With an eponymous debut album, Drive Like Jehu is imposing on the prolific San Diego scene as the link between the emerging noise rock and math rock movements. Shortly after Yank Crime, album of consecration, and a world tour, the Drive Like Jehu adventure ends. The singer/guitarist Froberg and his acolyte Reis will meet temporarily to form Hot Snakes (2000-2005). Mark Trombino has successfully started as a producer and has worked with Mineral, The Bled, Finch, No Knife, Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, Mock Orange and Motion City Soundtrack. Since the breakup, Drive Like Jehu has stopped expanding its audience and was a real catalyst for rock and more particularly for the broad-sense emocore.
