Drum:kan formed in 1995 under the leadership of Satoshi Tsugahara, their singer, but also manager of their label, Waver Waver. Two years later, the quartet will release its first album, Nimbus , which will allow it to travel to Los Angeles for a few dates. Start '99 releases their second effort, Blend, and just a few months later, Drum:kan will be sharing the poster with Sunny Day Real Estate, Snappase or Feeder. At the end of 2001, Satoshi and her peers will release their third opus, Faze , preceded by a date with Grade . With this experience of stage, Drum:kan will embark on an American tour with Elliott, which will follow the release of a live DVD: Last Realize. The latter will be caught with the release of their fourth album, Louisville . Their label, Waver Waver , then decided to set up a festival, Ex-Hivision , which will offer the four Nippons the opportunity to tour with Mae , Sense Field and Further Seems Forever in 2005. That same year saw the release of their fifth album: Save The World. And this is already the sixth one called As Life, which has the same production advantages as its predecessor.
