Biography

It is not uncommon for the frontman of a group, after a few years of community life, to set up a side project to spread his soul states. After taking up some tracks from his band Thrice in the acoustic version during some combo concerts ("Stare At The Sun", "In Years To Come"), Dustin Kensrue , animated by these personal desires, decided around 2003 to push the process a little further by taking the name Ursus Veritas ( ursus meaning in Latin bear and veritas , truth) and went on tour, alone, to find the essence of the concerts of human size. New York, L.A., Philadelphia, San Diego welcome the artist. The rooms are full every time. Dustin then recorded a 7 unofficial titles named Dustin Acoustic Assignment which soon circulated on the net. Packed up by the potential of Californian, the Equal Vision Records label produces its album, while Dustin is in contract with Island by Thrice (which feeds rumors of change of record company) and released on January 23, 2007 Please Come Home . The recording and mixing will however be done in reduced committee, with the only Teppei Teranishi (Thrice guitarist) and at his home. For the occasion, the songwriter decides to cease the name of Ursus Veritas and chooses soberly for his only name.
