Dying Fetus
Biography
Dying Fetus was born in 1991 in Annapolis, during the emergence of the Death Metal scene in the United States (Death, Suffocation, Cannibal Corps ...). Gathering Death, Grind and Hardcore is the goal of this group, which is the reference pioneer of the genre. Dying Fetus is a deconcerting technicality and efficiency, tinting his pieces with aggressive words and going straight to the goal (first oriented to topics such as gore and religion, then gradually addressing political and social issues). The band began as a good underground American band: bars, small halls, and decided to lay a first self-produced album, Infatuation With Malevolence in 1995, giving it a ticket for a tour on the east coast of the United States. After the release of their second album in 1996, Purification Through Violence was released at Pulverized Records and Diehard Music Worldwide, giving the band the opportunity to make a full tour with Kataklysm and Monstrosity. In 1998, with their own label called Blunt Force Records and Morbid Records, they released their third album at the international level, Killing On Adrenaline , following with a tour in America and for the first time in Europe, on dates such as the Morbid Metalfest or the Superbowl Of Hardcore. The 2000s marked a turning point for Dying Fetus. The band began to have a severe reputation, the magazines praised it, and some songs passed on specialized radios. Grotesque Impalement , an ep grouping of fairly effective old songs looks fast and a new tour is ensured with Kataklysm and Destruction . Dying Fetus signs at Relapse Records, and comes out Destroy The Opposition , a real aggressive critic of Western societies, a big latte proving that Death Metal is indeed among its heads groups whose social commitment and integrity is a must. A 16-month tour is organized. In 2003, Stop At Nothing came out, back to the sources, not musical, but ideological. Critique vis à vis au Mainstream ambiance, and continues a tour, passing also in Europe, at Fury Fest 2004 among others. The group evolves without concession from a brutal and critical perspective, without occulting constant renewal. One of the most honest representatives of the extreme scene. Today the line-up includes John Gallagher on guitar and singing, Mike Kimball on guitar, and Sean Beasley on bass, the band often changing drummer. On March 6, 2007, the sixth album of the band, War of Attrition , was released and recorded between September and October 2006. That same year, in July, the formation changed: drummer Duane Timlin was fired. The group hires Trey Williams, from the local group Severed Head , from Baltimore. Mike Kimball also left the band, the latter becoming a trio. September 2009, Dying Fetus released his seventh album, Descend Into Debravity , distributed by Relapse Records. Three years later, they made Reign Supreme appear. In 2013 Dying Fetus organizes an American tour alongside Exhumed, Abiotic, and Waking the Cadaver. Americans make their record return in 2017 with the brutal Wrong One to Fuck With .
