Ema
Biography
Erika M. Anderson aka EMA is an American singer, guitarist, author, composer from South Dakota, who plays between hazel-rock and hazel-folk, all strongly influenced by the drone scene. Until the early 2000s, Erika was a guitarist with Amps for Christ, an experimental rock project led by Henry Barnes (Man is the Bastard , Bastard Noise ), as well as a singer/guitarist at the trio drone-folk Californian Gowns (2006-2010). As early as 2010, EMA launched solo and soon offered a first Little Sketches on Tape effort, which was released in May of the same year at Night People (a label created by Shawn Reed, a former member of Raccoo-oo-oon). After a depression, due to a painful label search, during which all closed his doors, his first real album Past Life Partyred Saint, arrived just a year later at Souterrain Transmissions ( Zola Jesus , Cocorosie ...); The song EMA returns in 2014 with The Future's Void , a new album that she says is influenced by both the early Nine Inch Nails and Lync (Post-Hardcore ephemeral from the early 1990s), he will release in April with Matador for the States and City Slang for Europe, the production was carried out by Erika and Leif Shackelford.
