Biography

Formed in 1998 in Tokyo, Endzweck (which will only take this name in 1999), is originally a quartet composed of Akifumi Mochizuki (battery), Hirohisa Yamaguchi (guitar), Takashi Uesugi (chant) and Tadahiro Fukushima (bass). The band recorded its first ep, We Are Not Pessimistic About Revolutionizing The World To Be Peaceful, in August 1999. He was released at Hardcream Records and was subsequently republished twice at GMC Records and Cosmicnote Records (Akifumi Mochizuki's label). When Tadahiro Fukushima leaves Endzweck, the formation turns into a quintet with the arrival of Yoshinori Yamaguchi at bass and Tsunehito Oba at guitar. A second ep, A Farewell To Arms , was recorded and mixed by Osamu Seino in November 2001 and released at Outabomb Records in 2002. It is followed by numerous concerts including Reach The Sky, Shai Hulud, Bane, Silent Drive, Give Up The Ghost and The Hope Conspiracy. In 2005, the band produced a compilation of titles published here and there in other compils or splits, entitled Strange Love Gold: How Those Learned To Stop Warring And Love Bombs, Discography 2001-2004, via Goodlife Recordings. Between 2005 and 2006, Endzweck shared the scene with Against Me!, Arkangel, Heaven Shall Burn, The Promise, Satanic Surfers or The Red Chord and toured the United States with Comadre. The training changed again line-up with the replacement of Tsunehito Oba by Atsushi Oku on guitar. Endzweck's first album, The Grapes Of Wrath, was released in 2006 in Japan by Cosmicnotes Records. It will only be distributed in Europe at the beginning of 2008 (I For Us Records), almost as the band released its second album (December 2007), The Naked And The Dead via Step Up Records. 2008 sees the arrival in Europe of the Japanese who will be day at the Ieper Fest. Ulysses , third ep (seven tracks) of the band is released in November 2009 in Japan via Cosmicnotes Records. Endzweck continued in 2010 with numerous concerts and participated in the Pump Up the Volume Fest with Graf Orlock, Ghostlimb, Bold and Earth Crisis.
