Ex Deo
Biography
Ex Deo is a Death Metal Symphony band formed in 2008 in Canada by four Kataklysm members. Stéphane Barbe (Guitare), Jean-François Dagenais (Guitare), Max Duhamel (Batterie) and Maurizio Iacono (Chant) are all members of Kataklysm, as well as Dano Apekian (Basse) from Ashes Of Eden. Ex Deo is inspired by Roman history, myths and legends, both in the texts (they are all entirely sung in Latin) and in their stage outfits. In 2009, they signed with Nuclear Blast Records to produce their first album entitled Romulus, whose eponymous title is on the split alongside Swashbuckle. Ex Deo will then shoot with Korpiklaani, Alestorm, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Unleashed and Swashbuckle for the 2009 Pagan Fest, but also make the first games of Hypocrisy. In 2010, the doors of European festivals (including Hellfest) were opened to them, then they followed with a tour with Nile, Keep Of Kalessin, Psycroptic and Pathology. The band returned in 2012 with Caligvla released at Napalm Records.
